Formula One will go to the Middle East for the first time at the brand new circuit in Bahrain.

The Bahrain International Circuit is a magnificent complex built expressly to host Formula One in the region. No F1 car has ever been around the new 5.4 km track so it will be a discovery for the teams and drivers.

The Bahrain International Circuit is located in Sakhir, which is around 30 kilometres from the country's Capital of Manama.

Estimated lap times for F1 cars should be in the region of 1'35"000, which translates to an average speed of around 196 km/h.

Will the sand surrounding the track be a problem for the cars? The answer at the beginning of April...
